Shining a light on global humanitarian crises through storytelling and advocacy

In-Sight is a global network of advocates that seeks to bring to light some of the largest and most difficult humanitarian crises our world faces. Our site is geared towards juxtaposing these crises with pictures and stories to demonstrate the humanity and resilience of those who are experiencing them, both as volunteers and as the survivors.  In doing this, we hope to successfully amplify the voices of those who often go unheard and to stir up a call to action by providing useful information and resources for those wanting to not only educate themselves, but also get involved.

Meet our team below, and see how you can join us and participate in advocacy!
  1. "Do it. Do it. I promise that it will be the most gratifying experience of your life."

What is it like to volunteer for an organization like the Syrian American Medical Society? Dr. Ahmed Hassanin shares his exprience volunteering in Greece and urges prospective volunteers to get involved
  2. "Despite extensive coverage of the recent refugee crisis, part of the story still remains untold. In his talk, Mohammad shares stories of migrants he met when volunteering at refugee camps in Greece. He highlights their infinite kindness, perseverance, motivation to learn and determination to give back once integrated into Western societies. He believes that each and every one of us has the power to help refugees "
  3. "No one leaves home unless home chases you
    fire under feet
    hot blood in your belly
it’s not something you ever thought of doing
until the blade burnt threats into
    your neck
and even then you carried the anthem under
    your breath
only tearing up your passport in an airport toilet
sobbing as each mouthful of paper
made it clear that you wouldn’t be going back."

Anjali Alwis brings the compelling stories from the refugee camps of Thessaloniki to life with this compelling three-piece radio feature including interviews from In-Sight's Abdulazez Dukhan and Madi Williamson

  4. "I want the world to see the reality of this situation. I’m not a lifesaver nor a hero and I’m not drastically improving the lives of my refugee friends here... I came here to show these people that I care enough to not pretend that their struggle doesn’t exist and to tell them that there are others like me. I want to show them that they aren’t alone."
